Overview
Large configuration machines are constructed with a massive cast iron chassis for maximum rigidity, smooth operation and freedom from vibration and deformation. Some double-side applications for mass production require high pressure and high speed, which, in turn, demands the high power produced by our Large Configuration Machines. To maintain plate and substrate flatness, effective cooling must be incorporated in the spindle and plates to dissipate the heat generated by the process. SOMOS IWT has found the optimal design solution for large, high-power machines especially with coolant circuits, is to mount the top-plate drive system on the head of the machine, and drive only the lower plate and sun gear through the bottom spindle. This is our TPM “S” series. Precise surfacing, may be carried out with accuracy of low-pressure, low-speed settings with cycle times of several hours.
